Why Mediwrap® is appropriate for use in hot or tropical climates
Operating theatre procedures are essentially the same the world over. Patients need to be at normathermia for optimal recovery rates. Mediwrap® enables patients to attain and retain normathermia, before, during and after surgery, without the need for external heating devices and at a much lower cost.
Whatever the climate, trauma patients in pre-hospital or hospital care have a tendency to lose body temperature. Mediwrap® prevents this.
In humid conditions, Mediwrap® is ideal as it absorbs all bodily fluids, sweat as well as blood and forms a protective bacteria barrier.
The metallised layer, while reflecting body heat back to the patient, also reflects excess external heat away from the patient. It is non-conductive and therefore helps maintain normathermia in any climate, hot or cold.
