Welcome To Apollo Energy Research

Apollo Insulation started in 1995, when Colin Hawkes the Managing Director developed our Heat Reflecting Membrane, Thermo-Foil®ES.  Since then our product range has expanded.

Our Thermo-Foil® and Eco-Brite® products can be used in homes, offices, in portable buildings, modular structures, warehouses and in conjunction with under-floor heating.  EncaSeal™ is used for sealing insulation on HVAC ducts, pipes and other surfaces, while EncaClad™ has applications for the Oil and Gas Industry.  We also produce a HRM, AgriLiner, also sold as Valéron® AVA, designed for use in poultry houses, stables or other equestrian buildings.   Apollo products are primarily designed to block over 95% of radiant heat. They dramatically reduce a buildings energy requirement, enhancing comfort levels for occupants by helping to stabilise interior temperatures, whilst simultaneously reducing carbon emissions.

We also distribute a range of single use medical blankets and wraps, Mediwrap® products are based on similar technology to our Heat Reflecting  Membranes.  These are used in Hospitals, by Emergency Services, and the Military.

As well as supplying the UK domestic and commercial markets, Apollo also exports worldwide, and has been involved in prestige projects such as the Beijing Olympics, The Canadian Embassy, The Grand Mosque and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abu Dhabi, as well as major structures in Dubai, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, USA, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria and many countries in Europe.

Energy Costs – Some Facts

  • Home energy use is responsible for over a quarter of UK carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions which contribute to climate change.
  • The Code for Sustainable Homes sets the pathway for all new homes to be zero carbon by 2016.
  • Around 30% of the total heat lost through a building’s fabric can be as a result of thermal bridging.
  • Research has shown that a dwelling’s annual CO2 emissions can be reduced by up to 10% with better detailing and improved air tightness.
  • The thermal efficiency of buildings can be reduced by as much as 70% by radiation heat loss and air leakage
  • 33% of energy that leaks from your home is via walls, 26% is from roofs.
